What defines Amanoi Resort within Vietnam’s resort market?

Situated in Nui Chua National Park and on the shores of Vinh Hy Bay, Amanoi embraces, respects and lives among nature. It is among the leading high-end resorts in Vietnam and is a meditative outpost of Aman, which owns Amanoi, offering a haven for those who seek peace, privacy, and a sense of place. I believe this is what defines the uniqueness of Amanoi. The resort’s exceptional architecture blends perfectly into its natural setting, a signature of Amanoi as well as Aman’s DNA.

With your long experience in the position of General Manager in luxury resorts around Asia, what are the key elements that create a premium luxury resort?

Sense of Place

Luxury can mean different things to different people, but for Aman, flawless, discreet and genuine service is the Number 1 factor in successfully running a hotel that feels like the home of an old friend. This in turn means that our staff are our most valuable asset. Pre-empting guests’ needs in a friendly yet attentive manner is what we set out to achieve at every Aman and is one of the core pillars of our offering. In addition, the location of the property, its design and architecture, and insightful guest experiences are all just as essential.

What is the uniqueness of Vietnam as a destination and its luxury resorts compared to others in the region?

Vietnam is truly a hidden gem in Southeast Asia, with breathtaking landscapes and untouched nature along with rich culture and exquisite cuisine. This is a solid foundation for luxury resorts to be based on and to develop their business in Vietnam. Vietnamese are one of the warmest and friendliest people that I have ever met. I believe this is among the most important qualities in the hospitality industry, especially in the luxury segment, where intimacy and personalisation are essential.

Amanoi Resort’s location is far from the city and tourism centres in Vietnam, where high-quality staff for the hospitality sector are found. How has Amanoi trained and developed its human resources to provide high-end services to guests?

We are fortunate that Aman is recognised as having established a reputation for offering the highest levels of service, which attracts some of the best staff in the world. We invest in our staff and spend time training and guiding them to offer the standards of service for which the company is renowned. It is important to note that although impeccable, our service is also friendly, down-to-earth, and welcoming, which means that it is equally as important to ensure our staff build a rapport with our guests. After all, at many of our resorts, it is often the staff who keep the guests coming back time after time.

What services does Amanoi Resort offer to bring unique experiences to guests?

Situated in a unique natural setting, Amanoi offers guests extensive choices of activities and excursions, both inside and outside the resort. Our spa complex is ideal for relaxing and rejuvenating the body and mind, with signature massages and body treatments, along with mindful and movement classes such as yoga, tai chi, and Qigong, instructed by skilled therapists. We have recently launched two spa houses providing guests with private treatment facilities within their own villa, the first of its kind for Aman and possibly throughout Asia. The concept offers guests a fully immersive spa experience in the privacy of their own pavilion.

For those who seek adventure, we provide a number of water sports such as kayaking, hobie cat sailing, paddle boarding, windsurfing and snorkelling from our private beach on the shores of Vinh Hy Bay. Furthermore, guests can go hiking within the resort or in Nui Chua National Park, with different trek paths sorted into five different levels.

If you love culture and history, our city tour takes guests to downtown Phan Rang city, where they can explore one of the greatest empires in history, the Champa Kingdom, explore authentic pottery and weaving villages, visit a Cham artist and learn about his artwork, and try local street food. I believe our private dining experience is something exceptional for celebrating special events. We choose the most intimate, stunning and distinctive spots in the resort, among a unique natural backdrop, to host you and your loved ones.
