  • Free entry at Hanoi cultural sites during Tet

    Several historic and tourist sites in Hanoi will have free entry during the Lunar New Year (18-20 February), according to the city’s people’s committee. Destinations include Ngoc Son Temple (Hoan Kiem district), Quan Thanh Temple (Tay Ho district), Tay Phuong Pagoda (Thach That district), Thay Pagoda (Quoc Oai district), Huong Pagoda Complex (My Duc district), and Duong Lam Ancient Village (in Son Tay town). The committee also announced that visitors over 60, the disabled, and students can buy half price tickets at Ngoc Son Temple, Quan Thanh Temple, Van Mieu (Temple of Literature), Co Loa Relics, Hoa Lo Prison, and Thang Long Royal Citadel.

    Craig Thomas Gallery will hold the Tet 2018 Show to welcome in the Year of the Dog, with a group exhibition of new works by a dozen of the gallery’s favourite Vietnamese artists, including Truong The Linh, Le Thuy, Nguyen Tuan Dung, Nguyen Minh Nam, Bui Thanh Tam, Ngo Van Sac, Lim Khim Ka Ty, Tran Quoc Tuan, Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong, Hoang Ngoc Tu, Luong Luu Bien and Nguyen The Hung. The show features the latest artworks in different materials by each artist, such as ‘White Space II’ (water colour on silk) by Le Thuy, ‘Highland Girl 4’ (acrylic on wood) by Ngo Van Sac, ‘Portrait and Coin’ (acrylic on canvas) by Truong The Linh, ‘Sunrise’ (acrylic on canvas) by Tran Quoc Tuan, and ‘Crazy People in a Bar’ (oil on canvas) by Bui Thanh Tam.

    Craig Thomas Gallery will have its first pop-up exhibition of works by Vietnamese artists in New York City in May; a preview of specially created works for the Saigon Biannual collection.
