    The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced maximum airfares on short domestic trips of distances less than 500 km. A one-way ticket on routes such as HCMC - Can Tho/Ca Mau/Con Dao, Vung Tau/Can Tho - Con Dao, and Danang - Pleiku/Quy Nhon/Dong Hoi will be a maximum of VND1.6 million ($75). Prices do not include additional taxes and fees. Vietnam Airlines will continue offering a discount of 30% to soldiers, workers and passengers working and living with a legal residency permit in Con Dao, Ca Mau and Pleiku. The promotional program will be applied on routes including HCMC - Con Dao (25-30%), HCMC - Ca Mau (15%) and Danang - Pleiku (15%).

    The first double-deck speedboat, Greenlines DP, will take to the Saigon River in November to replace the hydrofoils that previously plied the route between HCMC and the southern coastal city of Vung Tau. With two engines, the new speedboat is more fuel efficient and safer than the old hydrofoils. It can run at 55-60 km/h, taking one hour and 15 minutes to complete the trip. A one-way ticket costs VND250,000 ($11.5). The boat, which cost $1 million, was designed by a Vietnamese engineer under European standards.
