Shop owner Tran Thi Tuong Hoan is passionate about fashion and been making clothes for around a decade. A year ago she set up her first Button outlet at Laneway 39, Mac Thi Buoi Street. The laneway is only a few metres wide and around 30 metres long, but has several shops, cafés, restaurants and spas.

The shop is not large and customers can easily find items such as dresses, hats, bags, shoes, and a variety of accessories made from silver, cloth or leather imported from Cambodia.

Clothes are made from linen and cotton, making them suitable for Vietnam’s tropical climate. Materials are imported from countries such as Japan and South Korea.

Button introduces new fashions every month and customers can place orders online.

Open from 9.30am to 6pm daily. Blouses are VND300,000 each, and shorts and leggings VND400,000-500,000 each.

Opera has quickly attracted a lot of attention for its large size and décor, which resembles a modern luxury hotel among the small and old streets of the city centre.
