Their mission is ‘to empower Vietnamese artists and bring a breath of fresh air to Vietnamese merchandise’ by promoting the works of young artists.

Tired City is a production and retail company focusing on purchasing fashion, fashion accessories, and art prints. Last January they collaborated with young artist Duong Giap to create a line of impressive hoodies, including three models: unisex hoodies called Hang rong (Road vendor), hoodies with images of ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress for women), and Cong an (Police). Collections are limited to 50 products. Printouts are hand-crafted under Tired City’s quality standards. Three images were taken from Giap’s project called ‘Let Yourself Go’. The style and inspiration of the artist originated from hip hop, a modern culture marking rebellion and suitable in fashion.

Tired City previously had a lot of paintings by young artist Nguyen Xuan Lam from the exhibition ‘Redrawing folk paintings’ printed in t-shirt collections. Lots of chic illustrations by other young local and foreign artists were also used.

Notebooks with illustrations from the  KAA studio based in HCMC on the cover, called Annam Mandarin, Binh Dinh Material Art ,or Annam Soldier, sell for VND95,000. Unisex t-shirts with sophisticated illustrations by Duong Giap and Xuan Lam are at VND395,000, while others with more simple illustrations of cartoon’s characters by KAA are VND295,000.
