Emphasis on octopus

Korean restaurants have been popping up like mushrooms after rain, especially in areas where Korean expats are readily found, like Cau Giay and Nam Tu Liem districts. Along Tran Duy Hung, Do Quang and Nguyen Thi Dinh Streets or in the Trung Hoa urban area are hundreds of restaurants servings authentic Korean or fusion dishes.

The newly-opened Octobar Restaurant on Tran Duy Hung Street serves both authentic and fusion Korean. As its name hints at, octopus is its signature dish, with an extensive menu including dozens of creations such as octopus in cheese fondue (VND87,000), stir-fried octopus (VND195,000), stir-fried octopus and pork (VND235,000), stir-fried octopus and shrimp (VND258,000), stir-fried octopus and beef (VND245,000), and a mixed octopus combo (VND289,000). Each of these dishes is prepared with different types of sauces and add-ons such as mushrooms, udon noodles or bean spouts. The restaurant also serves pilaf, or Korean-style fried rice, at VND79,000, whether fried with octopus, shrimp, pork or Kimchi. For drinks, Octobar offers Korean rice wine, Soju, tap or bottled beer, as well as soft drinks and yummy fruit shakes and juices.
