The t-shirts are environmentally friendly and in line with the principles of fair trade, with designs inspired by Asian and Vietnamese culture and made locally. Ginkgo believes in cutting down on the use of chemicals as much as possible. By using raw cotton, which comes from sustainable agriculture practices and by creating opportunities for people in disadvantaged areas, the brand is improving many people’s lives.
To meet the demand of travellers in Vietnam’s central region, Ginkgo has opened two more stores in Hoi An ancient town, called ‘Bach qua’ Ginkgo T-Shirts, on the pedestrian malls of Le Loi and Tran Phu. The tiny but beautiful shops showcase dozens of easy-care t-shirts suitable for all-ages. There are several fun-themed t-shirts, such as ‘Urban Saigon’ and ‘Vietnam Telecom’, or others with old or modern Vietnamese images. A men’s t-shirt with a design on the front depicting the chaos of urban Saigon, with traffic lights springing out of a net of electrical wires, a teen’s t-shirt with the different kinds of transport found in Vietnam, and a kid’s t-shirt with a red star on the front are unique souvenirs from Vietnam. All are printed using state-of-the-art screen-printing processes and other embellishment techniques, including soft-hand inks, water-based inks, appliqués, and embroidery.
Prices range from $18 to $22 for a short sleeve summer t-shirt, with sizes from S to L for women and from S to XL for men.
Open from 8am to 10pm daily.
