Danang to set up Son Tra national tourism site

Authorities in central Danang city have unveiled a master plan for developing Son Tra Peninsula into a national tourism site by 2025 with a vision towards 2030. About 10 km northeast of the city centre, the 1,000-ha tourism site is nestled on Son Tra Peninsula in Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district. The specific focus will be to develop a venue meeting the requirements for a national tourism site, such as the sustainable exploitation of marine and forest resources and the development of eco-tourism associated with sports, luxury marine, cultural and spiritual tourism products. Son Tra Peninsula is regarded as the green lung of the coastal city, with rich flora and popular tourism sites such as Linh Ung - Bai But Pagoda. It is home to around 300 red-shanked douc langurs, which are on the list of endangered species.
