A group of expats in Hanoi will organize an event tonight on International Women's Day (March 8) to celebrate women’s achievements and call for gender equality as well as raise fund for Vietnamese children.

Expats promotes gender equality

Responding to the global movement of the International Women's Day’s theme of “Balance for better”, the event will features with talks of guests from the Australian embassy, teachers from international schools, other local and international artists in Hanoi about their own experiences and inspire other women and men to create a more balanced self and the world. It is expected men to be active listeners, learners and supporters.
There will be workshops supporting, promoting and celebrating women's achievements, including holistic practices and art therapy with FaceConscious. 
It will also have art and music performance on electronic, post-rock, 90's pop-punk jams, alternative-Indie-rock, solo cello, etc.
The event will raise awareness and funds for Blossom House at Humanitarian Services for Children of Vietnam which  works to provide children with basic needs such as shelter, food, access to education and health care.
This is the second time the same kind of event is held. Last event raised VND20 million ($850) for the same charity. 
"We want to support women to be empowered and celebrate our achievements, to make the world a more balanced and peaceful place," said Tash Kovalenko, one of the organizers.
