    Dalat introduces five new walking tours

    The central highlands city of Dalat has launched five new walking tours at famous sites: a sightseeing tour by Xuan Huong Lake, with either a 1-km paddle boat ride or horse riding or a 3-km trip to visit flower gardens and go souvenir shopping; a 2-km sporty tour to Dalat golf course; a religious tour to Con Ga Church, Linh Son Pagoda, or Domain DeMarie Church; a city tour along the streets of Tran Le, Ly Tu Trong, Hoang Van Thu, and Tran Hung Dao, as well as Hang Nga villas, the Culture Centre, Palace I and II, Lam Dong Museum, and Cam Ly Waterfall; and a one-day trekking tour around Tuyen Lam Lake.

  • Dalat Apricot Festival

    The Dalat Apricot Festival will be held in the season of blossoming apricots and features many cultural activities around the city, where you can enjoy its beautiful streets with lines of blossoming apricot trees. Highlights of the festival include gong and music performances and water music, an exhibition of old motor bikes and photos by Dalat photographer MPK at Tuyen Lam Lake, which has the main stage of the festival, street music performances with guitar, violins and folk instruments, a fruit and flower carnival, street magic performances at The Clay Channel, tours to visit Tuyen Lam Lake by boat, and art installations at Dao Nguyen artist village. There are also competitions in fishing, mountain climbing, and golf.

  • Dalat opens maple leaf tourism area

    The Da Lat Maple Leaf Tourism Area has been opened in the central highlands city of Dalat. At 45 Dang Thai Than Street, the area quickly attracted visitors with its 2,000 maple and many other trees, plants, herbs and flowers local to the area, architecture relating to fairy tales and biology models, Koi fish ponds, and bonsai trees. It is expected to create a new, unique, and attractive destination for tourists to Dalat, especially those interested in researching rare endemic coniferous plants.



    In one of the Vietnam’s driest provinces can be found a little national park where wildlife and cool weather abounds.

    The Dalat Flower Festival 2015 will feature a series of activities for visitors, including a flower space installed around Xuan Huong Lake, Le Dai Hanh Street, Ong Dao Bridge, and the Palace Hotel area, displays from traditional flower villages set up at the Valley of Love Resort, Dreaming Hill, and Cable Car tourist area, an exhibition of flowers and ornamental plants at Dalat Flower Park, and the Dalat Flower Carnival at Lam Vien Square. The festival’s opening ceremony will take place on the night of 30 December at Lam Vien Square, with live performances of music and art and the Dalat Flower Carnival Parade.

    The festival will also hold the Dalat Flower Fair, with displays of flowers, vegetable art, the introduction and signing of contracts for vegetables, flower sales and the introduction of processed food made from Dalat vegetables, tubers, and fruit. There is also a space presenting calligraphy, fire-pen painting, and flower photography at Xuan Huong Park.



    More so than anywhere else in Vietnam, the past is what largely defines Dalat.

  • First Can Tho - Dalat flights begin

    The first flight between the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho and the central highlands city of Dalat in Lam Dong province took off today in a cooperative deal between the Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) and Vietravel, one of the country’s leading tour operators, helping to reduce the travel time between the two from 12 hours by road to just one hour by air. Until 6 August there will two flights a week, on Thursday and Sunday, using ATR 72 aircraft, with a one-way ticket costing VND999,000. Flight frequency will be increased based on demand. The new route is expected to boost tourism and economic development in the two regions. Last year Lam Dong province welcomed 1 million visitors travelling from Mekong Delta provinces by car while Can Tho city welcomed more than 1.1 million domestic visitors.
