  • New tours to Co To Island

    New tours are to be introduced shortly to Co To Island, the furthest island district in the northern province of Quang Ninh and boasting untouched forests, picturesque landscapes, beaches with turquoise water, and soft sand and coral. Tours will take visitors from Co To town to Dong Tuyen commune, Small Co To Island, and Thanh Lan Island commune, and offer seascape and adventure tourism. The route to Dong Tuyen commune will take in several tourist attractions, such as the Cau My rock grounds, the Gulf of Tonkin fishing logistics centre, the district’s central market, the Ho Chi Minh memorial site, Nam Hai Beach, Co To Lighthouse, and Choi Forest.

    Co To Island to be national eco-tourism site

    A master plan for socioeconomic development to 2020 for Co To Island off the coast of the northern province of Quang Ninh has been approved, with the island district to become a national-level eco-tourism and resort area and key destination. The focus will be on developing infrastructure while encouraging tourism expansion. The Truong Xuan Reservoir and lakes have been built and the island will open a pedestrian mall and a water park in the future. Fleets have been upgraded to provide visitors with easier access.

    Located 80 km from the mainland, Co To attracts many visitors with its untouched beauty and perfect conditions for sea and island tourism, including turquoise waters and tranquil beaches along with a tropical primeval forest eco-system.

  • Seaplane route to Co To Island planned

    Seaplane route to Co To Island planned

    The Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee has approved a proposal from Hai Au Aviation to introduce seaplane flights from Halong city to Co To Island next summer. The company plans to use a 12-seat seaplane, with a flight time of 15 to 17 minutes. Passengers will be given a spectacular view over Halong Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. The trip currently takes more than one and a half hours by speedboat. The flights will contribute to diversifying tourism products within the province’s development strategy to become an international-class tourism hub. Co To Island features some of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, with clean blue waters, smooth white sand, golden sunlight, and green mountains and forests. It has become a popular site for domestic tourists but remains largely unknown among foreign tourists.
