The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre presents a painting exhibition with 15 art works by two young Vietnamese artists – Nguyen Van Du and Tran Nguyen Trung Tin. The artists treat their paintings in a more calm and peaceful manner than prior generations, as they consider their artwork a natural instrument for expression, not just a weapon or tool in the war between modernity and tradition or between what is local and global. Tin and Du have many contrasts between them, not only in their ideas or the content of their paintings but also in the materials they use. With these contrasts, they show that painting is not a medium to be decentralised with the emergence of new multimedia art materials, but is in fact a very rich area of possibility to collaborate with other ideas and instruments.
