In the wet season the lake covers an area of 900 ha and boasts diverse freshwater species. The M'Nong ethnic minority have settled on the shores of the lake for centuries and have preserved their various traditional festivals, which they promote to attract more tourists. At Jun village at Lake Lak are elephant and dug-out canoe rides and races. The lake is much more beautiful during the summer. In the morning, the various shapes of the clouds are reflected on the lake’s surface, and in the afternoon the water gradually turns red and then gold. The local festival usually takes place during March and attracts thousands of visitors.
