King Kong film set open to visitors

The northern province of Ninh Binh, one of the shooting locations for the 2017 Hollywood blockbuster ‘Kong: Skull Island’, has decided to open the film set to tourists. Fans of the movie can visit the tribal village where the film’s protagonists seek refuge from monsters. Rattan huts have been set up with all kinds of decorative items. Models of a ship and aeroplane resembling those in the film will also be on display.

The film set tour will be part of a package of activities for visitors to the Trang An tourism complex, which also includes an expedition to local caves. The movie was also filmed in the central province of Quang Binh and Halong Bay. It was released in March and crossed the $500 million-mark at the worldwide box office. Director and screenwriter, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, has been named Vietnam’s tourism ambassador.

Sheraton Hanoi Hotel has announced the promotion of Ms Nguyen Thi Thuy Minh to Executive Assistant Manager (EAM). She is the first female Vietnamese EAM of the Sheraton brand in the world and in the international five-star hotel chain in Vietnam. Joining Sheraton Hanoi Hotel in 2003, she began her career in hospitality as a guest service agent. She was then promoted to Director of Human Resources in 2013. She managed and lead the Human Resources function, ensuring the alignment of the hotel’s culture, strategy and vision. She took part into all operational, human resources, financial, and business decisions. Ms Minh was selected among the ‘Top 5 Human Resources Leaders for ASEAN - Awarded by BMW Hotelier Award 2016’.
